Mitsubishi Ecodan Air Source Heat Pump Systems
Eco Technical are Mitsubishi Ecodan recommended installers and we are here to assist you from the designphase right through to commissioning and servicing of your new system.
Remarkable as it seems for every 1kW of energy put in you get 3kW out!
How does the Mitsubishi Ecodan heat pump work?
The electrical energy input to the system is not used to directly heat your house or hot water but to collect low grade heat outside your house and transfer it into the house to heat both the house and the hot water tank. This is like a fridge/freezer which pushes the heat out of the inside into the radiator panel on to the back.
This heat transfer process is much more efficient than using the electricity in an electrical heater or hot water immersion heater, you get at least 3 times more heat out!
Can I save on running costs by installing Mitsubishi Ecodan heat pump?
Running costs on standard tariff electricity for the Mitsubishi Ecodan system should be around 35% less than running a conventional gas boiler.
Can the Mitsubishi Ecodan heat pump system reduce my carbon footprint?
Yes, the Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump system can reduce the CO2 emission by 45% compared to a gas fired boiler, more on oil fired boilers and even more compared to direct electrical heating.
Also as more of the National Grid’s Electrical supply comes from carbon neutral sources to meet its 2020 cleaner energy targets, your carbon footprint will reduce still further compared to gas fired boiler.
Is my house suitable for installation of a Mitsubishi Ecodan heat pump system?
Yes, more than likely, especially if it already has a reasonably level of insulation such as double glazing and cavity wall insulations. Existing radiators that are less than 30 years may also be suitable for use.
Good news about the Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump system
VAT on domestic heat pump installations is only 5%
The single phase electrical supply versions of the Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump systems have received fully accreditation under the Micro-generation Certification Scheme (MCS), allowing homeowners to apply for a grant of up to £900 under the Low Carbon Building Programme.
